Nile crocodile found in Roanoke bedroom

It really doesn’t get any more exotic than this – a six foot, one hundred pound, Nile crocodile with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth right here in Roanoke.
“He just started of as a pet,” Laura Paner, with Croc Encounters in Tampa, said.

History Channel

March 25, 2008: Crocodilian Evolution was the theme for a series that will air on the History Channel and star Croc Encounter’s animals. Footage of alligators basking, eating, swimming and jumping was taken by a History Channel Film Crew. “Amos” the alligator and “Sobek” the Nile Crocodile came in for some really great close-ups!

Animal Planet Filming

March 20, 2008: Croc Encounters was the site for some filming for an Animal Planet Film Crew. The Reticulated Python and Burmese Python will star on the show that will hopefully air in September.

Nursery Donations

March 12, 2008: Croc Encounter’s volunteers just unloaded the last of three semi loads of plants that were donated by a nursery. Included were queen palms, oak trees, and many lagustrums. These plants will be used inside animal enclosures and will act as visual barriers between animals and along pathways.

Tampa Reptile Mania

March 8 & 9, 2008: Tampa Reptile Mania – Croc Encounters displayed and presented four education programs at the Tampa Reptile Mania show at the fairgrounds. “Dusty” the donation tortoise collected donations for the sanctuary at the event. “Jellybean” the red tegu and “Jeremy” the American Alligator were also at the show to visit with attendees.
